Middlesbrough, West Brom eyeing Lyon defender

Middlesbrough and West Bromwich are among clubs showing interest in Lyon full-back Henri Bedimo, L’Equipe can reveal.

The Cameroon defender will be out of contract in a month and everything suggests he will not be signing a new deal with les Gones.

Turkish Super Lig champions Besiktas have rekindled their interest in his services, having already attempted to secure his signature in January, but there are few more high-profile sides in the race.

While Ligue 1 clubs Lille and Nantes are also keen, L’Equipe claims that Premier League outfits Middlesbrough and West Bromwich also hold Bedimo in high regard.

The 31-year-old defender has spent last three years at Lyon having joined from Montpellier, making a total of 81 league appearances.

Bedimo has spent his entire career up to date in France, representing Toulouse, Le Havre, Chateauroux, Lens, Montpellier and Lyon, so there is a chance he will be tempted by the prospect of moving to English Premier League.
