Nigeria midfielder John Obi Mikel is looking forward to facing Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou when his side meet Ivory Coast.
The teams will do battle at the quarter-final stage of the Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday, but Mikel is sure he will get one over Drogba and Kalou, formerly of Chelsea.
“Well, it will be lovely to play against my former mates from Chelsea. Drogba has always lifted Ivory Coast and no doubt he will want to continue with that against Nigeria,” Mikel told Goal.com.
“It is going to be a tough game for both teams but I think we have had a better run against Ivory Coast in recent years, and that should be a motivating factor for all Nigerians.”
Nigeria have beaten Ivory Coast in both of the sides’ previous two AFCON meetings.
