Milan Baros returns to Czech Republic

Czech side Banik Ostrava have announced on their official website that they have completed the signing of Milan Baros.

The long-drawn negotiations have been successfully concluded earlier today, with the veteran striker signing a deal until June 2014 with the club.

Under the terms of the agreement, Baros will be free to leave the club at the end of the current season in case of a good offer from abroad.

Milan Baros had left Galatasaray few days ago after his contract was terminated by mutual consent.

The 31-year-old has thus returned to where it all started for him, having begun his professional career at Banik Ostrava.

Baros left Banik in 2002 to sign for Liverpool, and went on to make 68 Premier League appearances for the Reds before moving to Aston Villa in 2005.

He has spent last four and a half seasons at Galatasaray, where he scored 47 goals in 92 league matches.
