Milan captain Riccardo Montolivo and striker Stephan El Shaarawy could feature in the UEFA Champions League tie with Ajax on Tuesday.
The pair have made just four starts between them in Serie A this season due to injury, with Milan having had a mixed start to the season.
Massimiliano Allegri’s men are in ninth place in the league but could welcome back the duo as they look to make it two wins from two in Europe this season.
Both players trained with the squad on Sunday, following the 1-0 win over Sampdoria a day previously, and may play a part at the Amsterdam Arena.
Allegri warned on Saturday that he may need to use the returning players sparingly ahead of the clash with champions Juventus on Sunday.
“I’ll have to manage them as best I can because then we’ll be up against Juventus,” he said.
Milan got their Champions League campaign under way with a win in their first game, overcoming Celtic 2-0 at San Siro.
