AC Milan have emerged as surprise favourites for the signature of Sassuolo hotshot Domenico Berardi, Tuttosport can reveal.
It is now clear that Sinisa Mihajlovic will leave San Siro at the end of the season, and the latest reports suggest that Neroverdi boss Eusebio Di Francesco has been chosen as his successor.
This could have something to do with the fact that Sassuolo enjoyed a 2-0 triumph over AC Milan last weekend, but a move to Milan would also be a just reward for the 46-year-old tactician and his work in Reggio Emilia.
If he does take over the reigns at San Siro, Eusebio Di Francesco will attempt to take his star player Domenico Berardi with him.
And even though Juventus have the option to buy the Italy international for €25 million, it is believed that Berardi would prefer to continue his cooperation with Di Francesco, which means a summer move to AC Milan is on the cards.
