AC Milan are set to launch a bid for Cagliari midfielder Davide Biondini, should Gennaro Gattuso leave the club either in January or next summer.
The highly-rated midfielder earned his first senior Azzurri cap this month after impressive performances for the Rossobliu and is expected to be the subject of much interest during the winter transfer window.
The likelihood of a move to the San Siro will increase further should veteran midfielder Gattuso leave the club, after the Italian international has become unhappy at the lack of first team football in recent times.
Gattuso has been linked with several big name clubs in recent weeks, including high-spending Manchester City as well as a number of Serie A sides.
