(GSM) – Italy Prime Minister and Milan FC owner Silvio Berlusconi has dismissed speculation he is looking to sell his club.

Earlier the Italian media had reported that Russian gas company Gazprom was considering buying a 30 per cent stake in Fininvest, Berlusconi’s holding company that owns Milan.

But Berlusconi told the Italian television Canal 5 there was no truth in the rumours widely circulating in the Italian press.

“Who said I don’t care? I spend 50 million per season,” Berlusconi told Canale 5 on Friday

“Selling the club? I can’t understand this question, especially when asked to me,” the President added.

“5 – I made AC Milan’s history, I am the president who has won the most.

“Real Madrid’s stadium is dedicated to Bernabeu, who won half of the titles I have won.

“Those who think that my family don’t care about Milan make a big mistake.

“I have always dedicated my attention and made lots of sacrifices for Milan.

“I invest more than 50 million per season. I think it’s even too much,” the Milan head revealed.
