AC Milan have reportedly offered 6.5 million euros for Montpellier centre-back Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.
Milan are looking to fill the void in their backline following the departure of Thiago Silva to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month, and they have earmarked the 23-year-old Montpellier man as the perfect replacement.
According to L’Equipe, Milan have already reached an agreement with Yanga-Mbiwa over a five-year contract worth 1.5m euros per year, a figure that will eventually rise to 1.8m per season.
However, they have yet to reach an agreement with Montpellier, and it is expected that the Ligue 1 champions will turn down Milan’s first offer.
Although Yanga-Mbiwa’s current deal with the French side is due to expire at the end of the season, Montpellier have no intention to let go of the highly-rated defender on the cheap.
