Houston welcome New England on Saturday while Montreal travel to Vancouver on Wednesday, giving both the chance to keep the heat on New York.

The Red Bulls are unbeaten in five games but could only muster a 1-1 draw against New England last time out and welcome LA Galaxy to the Red Bull Arena on Sunday.

Third-placed Sporting Kansas City will have the chance to make up any ground on the rest of the top four when they face bottom club DC United on Sunday in the penultimate game of the weekend.

It’s also the battle of the fifth-place sides in each division on Wednesday night as Philadelphia Union welcome LA Galaxy to PPL Park.

Galaxy were humbled last time out, 3-1 against the Vancouver Whitecaps, while Philadelphia enjoyed a 1-0 win over Chicago Fire.

The Fire will travel to Chicago on Saturday as they look to secure their play-off spot.

In the lower half of the Eastern Conference, Columbus Crew can keep their play-off hopes alive with a win against second-bottom Toronto FC.

In the Western Conference, FC Dallas can keep the momentum going at the top of the table if they can get a result against strugglers Seattle Sounders, although second place Portland Timbers will also be favourites in their fixture against the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Both Real Salt Lake and the Colorado Rapids can move into second place if the result between Portland and Vancouver goes their way, with the pair playing basement side Chivas USA and play-off hopefuls San Jose respectively.
