Ligue 1 newcomers Monaco have completed the signing of 17-year-old striker Anthony Martial.
Martial, who has been capped at France youth level, made his debut in the top flight last season for Lyon and moves to the Stade Louis II on a three-year deal.
Technical director Riccardo Pecini told the club’s official website that there were high hopes for what Martial can achieve at Monaco.
“We are very happy that Anthony is joining us,” he said.
“He is the big hope of his generation and he will continue to grow at a very high level.”
Since gaining promotion from Ligue 2, Monaco have splashed the cash on a number of established internationals such as Radamel Falcao, Joao Moutinho, James Rodriguez and Ricardo Carvalho.
However, the club claim that this signing demonstrates a vision for the future as well as the present.
Their return to the top flight has already been hampered by the decision of the Professional Football League to issue them with a three-point deduction, with one suspended due to crowd trouble.
The club have also been ordered to play one match behind closed doors.
