Radio Monte Carlo understands that AS Monaco are close to reaching an agreement to sign Gianelli Imbula from Stoke City.
The Principality club have so far proved to be the only serious contenders for the midfielder’s signature, and they are now in advanced talks with the Premier League side.
It is now clear that Imbulla will be joining Monaco on a season-long loan with an obligatory purchase option, which will be between €14m and €18m.
The Principality club are not in a hurry to conclude the negotiations due to the fact that they have yet to sell Fabinho and possibly another central midfielder.
Gianelli Imbulla struggled to prove his worth in English Premier League, making a total of 26 league appearances for the Potters.
