Monaco have bid rejected for Sporting starlet

French giants Monaco have had an offer for winger Carlos Mane rejected by Sporting Lisbon, O Jogo has learned.

The Principality club coach Leonardo Jardim knows the youngster well having coached him at Estadio Jose Alvalade and he seems eager to lure him to Stade Louis II.

As a result, Monaco recently submitted an offer in the region of €8 million for the highly rated footballer, but their proposal was swiftly rejected.

Namely, the Lions believe Mane can develop into a world-class player and they heavily rely on him for the next season.

The 21-year-old has been in fine form this term, having managed 9 goals and 6 assists in 40 competitive outings, and he is on the verge of becoming an undisputed starter.

Top European clubs are already casting admiring glances his way, but it looks as though Sporting have no plans to cash in on their prized asset just yet.
