Monaco hijack Marseille’s bid for Stevan Jovetic

Radio Monte Carlo understands that Monaco have won the chase to sign Montenegrin forward Stevan Jovetic from Inter Milan.

The highly rated footballer had initially reached an agreement with Marseille and was scheduled to undergo a medical in Provence on Monday.

However, having agreed to let Kylian Mbappe join PSG, Monaco decided to make a move on Jovetic, and asked the player’s agents to wait for their proposal before finalising a deal with l’OM.

Monaco then managed to persuade the striker to move to Stade Louis II instead, offering much better terms than their league rivals, and enjoying another triumph over Marseille after the 6-1 hammering in the Ligue 1 clash.

Having won the first four fixtures of the new campaign, defending champions are 7/1 to go all the way.
