Monaco in talks for van der Wiel

Le 10 Sport claims that Monaco have emerged as the main candidates to sign Dutch full-back Gregory van der Wiel from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Netherlands international will be out of contract at the end of the season and chances are he will not be extending his stay at Parc des Princes.

PSG officials decided to offer the defender a new deal after Serge Aurier had been suspended, but van der Wiel does not seem interested.

He has been disappointed by the fact that even centre-back Marquinhos is in front of him in the pecking order and is ready to leave for greener pastures.

According to the latest reports, Monaco have expressed the desire to recruit the 28-year-old footballer, seeing that their first choice right-back Fabinho is being linked with a big club move.

Van der Wiel has spent last four years with Paris Saint-Germain, making a total of 86 Ligue 1 appearances.
