Monaco join race for Goncalo Guedes

Portuguese media outlet Record understands that French giants AS Monaco are hot on the trail of Benfica starlet Goncalo Guedes.

Valencia and Paris Saint-Germain have already attempted to recruit the Portugal international, but it appears the Principality club have joined the chase as well.

Namely, with star striker Radamel Falcao subject of numerous offers from China, Monaco may need to reinforce their front line in the near future.

And while Goncalo Guedes is not exactly an out and out striker like the Colombian, he could definitely offer a new dimension to the attack at Stade Louis II.

Monaco are reportedly readying a January offer for their target, and it remains to be seen whether they can persuade Benfica to part ways with their prized possession.

Guedes, 20, has so far scored 7 goals in 26 competitive outings this season, while he also has 2 Portugal caps to his name, having featured in November 2015 friendlies.
