AC Milan midfielder Riccardo Montolivo says his club desperately need to take all three points from Sunday’s Serie A match against Bologna.

The Italy international feels Bologna will not be pushovers, though, and has singled out Alberto Gilardino as their main attacking threat.

“Bologna have good technical qualities and we’ll have to be careful because they have quality in the middle and up front,” Montolivo told Milan Channel.

“Gilardino is back scoring for them, but we absolutely have to win.”

Montolivo said he is prepared to play wherever coach Massimiliano Allegri needs him.

“Playing in front of the defence? I like it and as I always say, I’ll do anything for the team. If I play there on Sunday, I’ll give everything I have,” he said.

“I’m very happy to be a part of the Milan family. When you play for the big teams, you always have that special motivation.”

Montolivo has made 18 Serie A appearances for Milan so far this term, netting two goals in the process.
