Alvaro Morata says his late goal against Levante was no coincidence as Real Madrid teach their youth players to keep on fighting till the end.

The 20-year-old came off the bench after 83 minutes of play in Jose Mourinho’s side’s 2-1 win over Levante in La Liga on Sunday, and netted the winner hardly 60 seconds later.

“From when you’re very young, Madrid teach you to fight until the end. A goal like this had to come one day,” Morata said.

The striker remains humble despite his crucial goal for the club, and is determined to keep on learning and developing.

“I’m in the best team in the world and with the best coach in the world,” Morata said.

“I accept all the advice they give me and try to take it in to be better.

“I’m grateful to all the people that work at this club and all the coaches.

“I was lucky enough to score the winning goal. It was a header for three points. I’ll keep working as always. Mourinho congratulated me after the game.”

Morata has made three La Liga appearances for Madrid this campaign, scoring once.
