Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti says he would rather hold on to Wesley Sneijder than bring in Javier Pastore from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Argentina international has been linked with a move to the Giuseppe Meazza side with Sneijder’s future at the club in doubt, but Moratti has not given up hope of retaining the gifted Dutch midfielder just yet.

“Between Sneijder and Pastore, I’d rather have Sneijder. He’s the best there is in my opinion,” Moratti told reporters.

“Too much has already been said about this. I have an excellent relationship with the lad and when Wesley returns he’ll provide added value.”

The 28-year-old Sneijder has not featured for Inter since September 26 due to a an ongoing contract dispute, and the Netherlands international stressed earlier this week that he has no intention of accepting a significant pay cut and signing a new deal.
