Motta plans Inter return

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Thiago Motta has revealed that he would like to return to Inter before he calls time on his playing career.

The Italy international parted company with the San Siro outfit in acrimonious circumstances in January, forcing through a move to Parc des Princes on the final day of the transfer window.

Motta subsequently claimed that he did not get on with several members of the Inter squad, Esteban Cambiasso in particular, but he has now claimed that he would be open to returning to the club at some point in the future.

“If I can come back someday, I would be happy,” the 29-year-old said. “But now I’m thinking only of PSG.”

Motta also revealed that he believes Andrea Stramaccioni, who succeeded Claudio Ranieri as Inter coach less than two months after his departure for the French capital, is capable of restoring the club to their former glory.

“I do not know him well but they (the players) are saying that he’s good,” he said. “Stramaccioni, if he is supported, can do well.”

For the moment, though, Motta is enjoying life in Paris, and says that sporting director Leonardo and coach Carlo Ancelotti made it very easy for him to adapt to his new surroundings.

“With Leonardo, we talked about everything; about how difficult it was for me to take this step,” he explained. “Ancelotti took me to dinner. He is great at putting players at ease.”

Motta, who was born in Brazil, played his part in Italy’s impressive Euro 2012 campaign but suffered an injury shortly after coming on as a substitute in the final against Spain.
