Real Madrid general director Jose Angel Sanchez said Jose Mourinho’s future was not discussed during Tuesday’s meeting.

Marca reported on Thursday captains Iker Casillas and Sergio Ramos had demanded the departure of the Portuguese boss, and had threatened to leave if Mourinho were to stay put – a claim that was vehemently denied by club president Florentino Perez during a press conference.

Even though the Spanish paper continues to stand by its story, Sanchez has once again refuted suggestions Mourinho’s future at Madrid is in doubt.

“I can assure you that at no point did we discuss the future of Mourinho,” the Madrid director told AS.

“Speculation that we did talk about it is nothing but a big lie. You cannot speculate about something this serious.”

Mourinho has an ongoing contract with Madrid, but several publications continue to predict he will leave the club at the end of the season.
