Mourinho ‘likes’ working at Inter

(GSM) – Internazionale boss Jose Mourinho has said he “likes” working at the Milan giants amid reports that he is planning to activate a £5.5million buy-out clause from his contract.

The former Chelsea manager is rumoured to be at the top of Liverpool’s list of candidates to replace Rafa Benitez if the Spaniard leaves in the summer for Juventus.

The Turin giants have made no secret of their interest in the Spaniard and are understood to initiate talks in the summer regarding his future.

Mourinho has persistently been linked with a return to the Premier League and Liverpool could be interested if the Portuguese does leave Inter, where his relationship with club president Massimo Moratti is said to be strained.

“The club and I signed a very objective contract until 2012, because we want to work together,” Inter boss Mourinho is quoted as saying in the News of the World.

“But there is a cancellation clause that Inter will pay me if they want my departure and another that I will pay Inter if I want to leave.

“It’s all simple and very objective. There will never be a never-ending story with us as has happened in the past with other people. We are honest people with honest contracts and objectivity.”

He added: “How can my love for Italy have finished if I never had any love for it? I like working at Inter. I like difficult things. So I’m OK.

“My place is always in danger because I always coach clubs which a lot of people would like to coach.

“I always leave teams set up for future years, because I always leave excellent working conditions and structures for those who arrive.

“But if my place is in danger after having won the league and with me leading it again and having qualified for the Champions League, imagine what it’s like for those who cyclically fail to meet their objectives.”
