Everton manager David Moyes has confirmed Leroy Fer is undergoing a medical with the club, but is cautious until the deal has been completed.
The English Premier League side agreed a fee in the region of 8.5 million pounds with FC Twente for the highly rated 23-year-old midfielder, with Moyes looking to add to his squad and boost the club’s attempts to secure a Champions League spot.
And while Moyes is excited at Fer’s potential arrival, he is remaining cautious, telling reporters: “It’s difficult for me to speak about it because I want to make sure it’s over the line.
“It’s not yet. As we speak just now, he’s away doing his medical and until it’s complete I couldn’t give you the definitive answer.
“It’s someone who we’ve liked for a long time. He’s young and he’s certainly an upcoming prospect, which we like the sound of.
“So it is somebody who we think can help us and hopefully everything going well, he’ll be here.”
Everton sit in fifth spot in the Premier League and host fellow top-half side West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday.
