u r right in 1, blaze. england are terrible (fans, not the players;players are very good, but only Rooney and Gerrard and Lampard are really world class). building the team up puts pressure, then tearing then down again just kills them. . . just say “We’ve got your back!” b4 the WC, and after, if you lose a match, say “At least you tried your best.”
even though england has crappy players(majority) you the fans should @ least cheer them on and offer support,a pat on the back never hurt anyone but ol you do is shoot them down.it wont help anyone guys…
Paul is right. You England fans (and your PATHETIC tabloids) need to stop building up your team so much, then, when the Three Lions win 10- or 2-1 against their first opponent, you just tear them back down!! Us Americans know better than that. . . the officials dont seem to like us.
examples:
2-2 draw with Slovenia. shoulda been 3-2 win, but ref makes dubious call, doesnt even report what the foul was.
1-0 win over Algeria. that’s better but the linesman made a mistake over Dempsey’s goal being “offside” when it was ONSIDE.
2-1 loss to Ghana. the Black Stars were taking leaves outta Ronaldo’s book, falling down at the slightest bit of contact (if any at all) especially in extra time. if the rules were followed, my honest opinion is that no fewer than 2 Black Stars should’ve been ejected for feigning fouls/injuries.

How about encouraging England? The more you tear them down, the more they believe what you say. They have the quality to do well, but all you england writers and fans do is tell them how crappy they are. Shame on you.

It would be easy to blame the coach, but in my opinion the people to blame are simply the players. They couldn’t grasp the opportunity throughout the competition. Capello hardly chose the Christmas formation but 4 4 2 isn’t exactly foreign science. Maybe we shox just recognise we font have great players at the moment. The only thing I hope for is a mass retirement of the current crop who didn’t even try. I’d rather se our u21s play first team with the hope of a brighter tomorrow than this lot!
