Murphy set for Cardiff City switch

Premier League newcomers Cardiff City are close to securing a deal for Norwich City midfielder Josh Murphy, according to Sky Sports.

Fulham and Brighton and Hove Albion have also been monitoring, but it is the Welsh outfit who have won the race to secure his services, in a deal worth around £10m.

The twenty-three-year-old broke into the Canaries first team during the 2013/14 campaign, making nine appearances in the Premier League though he was unable to help them avoid relegation.

Having had loan spells with Wigan Athletic and MK Dons, he returned to Carrow Road and established himself in the first team, making forty-seven appearances in all competitions last season, scoring eleven goals.

Internationally, he has represented England at every level from U18s to U20s, scoring on his debut for the latter – a 6-0 win over Romania U20s in September 2014.

Cardiff are favourites to be relegated from the Premier League next season at a price of 8/11.
