Napoli agree deal for Antonio Candreva

Serie A giants Napoli have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Italy international midfielder Antonio Candreva from Lazio, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

The Azzurri have hijacked Inter’s bid for the highly rated winger by offering €24 million, some €4 million more than their league rivals and their proposal was accepted by the Biancocelesti.

All that’s left now is for Candreva to agree personal terms with Napoli, and that should not be a problem considering that the 30-year-old is eager to leave Lazio for a club that can challenge for major honours.

Lazio chairman Claudio Lotito has confirmed that the deal is close to being wrapped up, and there should be no obstacles to the Italy international moving to Stadio San Paolo.

Candreva had been on the radar of both Barcelona and Manchester United in the past, but neither side have made their move in the summer transfer window.
