Napoli confirm deal for Leonardo Pavoletti

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has moved to confirm the transfer taking Genoa striker Leonardo Pavoletti to Stadio San Paolo has been completed.

The highly rated footballer will be joining the Azzurri in a €13 million deal and he arrives as a replacement for Manolo Gabbiadini, who is nearing the exit door.

Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis announced the deal via his official Twitter account, while the club are expected to follow suit in the coming hours.

The 28-year-old is expected to pen a four-year deal after successfully passing a medical and he will be vying Arkadiusz Milik for a starting berth at Stadio San Paolo.

After Manolo Gabbiadini failed to properly replace the injured Polish striker, winger Dries Mertens have come to the rescue, although he should now return to his natural position.

Leonardo Pavoletti did pretty well during his time at Stadio Luigi Ferraris, bagging 23 goals in 33 Serie A starts.
