Serie A high-flyers Napoli are considering a January bid for FC Porto midfielder Hector Herrera, Sport Mediaset has suggested.
The Azzurri have enjoyed a great start to the season and they are priced at 1/2 for a top 3 finish after climbing to second in the league standings.
But, rather than resting on his laurels, coach Maurizio Sarri is determined to further strengthen the squad in the January window and has now set his sights on Hector Herrera.
The Mexican has been a very important player for both club and country over the last couple of years and his promising showings clearly did not go unnoticed.
Napoli have made the 25-year-old their primary target and they are expected to open talks with the midfielder’s employers in the coming weeks.
Hector Herrera has managed a total of 11 goals and 14 assists in 84 competitive appearances for the Dragons, earning 13 yellow cards and one red card in the process.
