Napoli keeper set for Argentina return

Il Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Napoli goalkeeper Mariano Andujar is set to return to native Argentina.

The Azzurri were unsuccessful in their attempts to offload the 32-year-old in the summer transfer window, but it appears he will finally be leaving Stadio San Paolo.

Namely, Estudiantes have expressed a desire to recruit the experienced shot-stopper, who will initially be joining on a season-long loan.

Mariano Andujar began his career at Huracan and he also enjoyed a loan spell with Palermo before joining Estudiantes in 2006.

The former Argentina international went on to make 105 league appearances for the Argentine giants before moving to Catania three years later.

Andujar has been at Napoli since last summer and he did well to start 15 Serie A matches last season, but he has since lost his place in the side and is clearly not in the first team plans of new coach Maurizio Sarri.
