Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has again insisted that Chelsea have not made a move for Marek Hamsik.

The Slovakia midfielder has long been linked with a move to England, with Chelsea thought to be leading the chase.

But Naples supremo De Laurentiis has moved to deny weekend reports that Chelsea have lodged an offer.

“I don’t think Marek will be leaving Napoli,” he told Sky Italia.

“He has a long contract with us and he is very well in Napoli.

“I won’t just yield to any offer from Chelsea, we don’t need their money.”

A few days earlier his agent Juraj Venglos claimed that interest in Hamsik was mounting.

Venglos stated: “It is too early to talk about Marek’s future, but indeed there is a strong interest in him.”
