Napoli to swoop for Balotelli

Napoli are set to make a shock January move for Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli, according to the Metro.

The Italy international only secured his £16m move to Anfield in August, but has so far underwhelmed with his only goal for the club coming in the 2-1 win over Bulgarian champions Ludogorets in the Champions League last month.

His league performances in particular have come under fire, with the Reds having taken just eight points from twenty-one available in the games in which he has featured.

Now Napoli, managed by former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez, are ready to give the 24 year old the chance to return to his homeland, and have a £10m bid in waiting.

Liverpool dropped points again at the weekend, drawing 0-0 with Hull City – a result which leaves the two points off the top four, and they can now be backed at 6/5 to end the season in the Champions League qualification places.
