Napoli are looking to hijack Juventus’ bid for Atalanta starlet Franck Kessie, Il Corriere dello Sport can reveal.
The Ivorian midfielder has been on the radar of quite a few top sides from Italy and England, but the Serie A champions appear to have moved to the front of the queue.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Juventus have agreed to pay €20 million for Kessie in the January window, but the transfer has yet to be wrapped up.
This is something that Napoli will attempt to take advantage of as the Azzurri also hope to purchase the Ivorian this winter.
Even though the player’s agent would prefer for his client to remain at Atalanta until the end of the season before making a big club move, it seems that both Juventus and Napoli want to add Kessie to their respective squads as soon as possible due to lack of quality options in the middle of the park.
