Napoli to hijack AC Milan bid for Romagnoli

Napoli will challenge Serie A rivals AC Milan for the signature of AS Roma starlet Alessio Romagnoli, Il Corriere dello Sport has learned.

The Rossoneri are ready to pay €25 million for one of Italy’s hottest prospects as new coach Sinisa Mihajlovic would love to get reunited with the player he coached at Sampdoria last season.

However, AS Roma are adamant that €30 million asking price is non-negotiable, so there has been no agreement as of yet.

What is more, it appears that Napoli have now joined the chase as well, having offered €25 million for Romagnoli.

It remains to be seen whether one of the two suitors can find an agreement with the Giallorossi, who will only sell their prized asset in case of a substantial offer.

Alessio Romagnoli, 20, largely impressed while on loan at Sampdoria last term, starting 30 Serie A fixtures and scoring 2 goals in the process.
