Negredo set for Premier League return

Valencia striker Alvaro Negredo could be returning to English Premier League this summer, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The 30-year-old had spent a season with Manchester City before moving to Valencia last summer, and it looks as though he will again be on the move.

Namely, Negredo is looking to leave Mestalla in search of regular first team football and Mundo Deportivo claims that Premier League newcomers Middlesbrough are ready to offer him an escape route.

Boro coach Aitor Karanka has already signed one former La Liga star as Victor Valdes joined on a free transfer and he is keen on bringing Negredo to Riverside as well.

The initial contact with the player’s agents has been established, but the Premier League outfit also need to agree on a transfer fee with Valencia.

Alvaro Negredo has struggled for form since returning to Spanish La Liga, scoring mere 10 goals in 55 appearances.
