Paris Saint-Germain winger Nene has confirmed he is set to leave the club for Qatari League side Al-Gharafa.

The Brazilian finished last season as the capital club’s top scorer, but has found first-team opportunities hard to come by since the arrivals of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ezequiel Lavezzi.

A host of clubs from around the globe were said to be vying for his signature, and the Doha outfit have eventually won the race.

“I’ve reached an agreement with Al-Gharafa,” Nene told Telefoot.

“(The pay) is wonderful. These are things that can happen only once in life. I don’t know if people will understand. I’m going to be 32, and time goes quickly.

“I’ve thought about my future so that my family is calm.”

Nene was supposedly close to a move back to his homeland, but said the time was not right.

“It’s difficult too because I’ve always had the dream of getting into the national team and returning to my family,” he said.

“There were things I discussed with Santos. Everything was fine, but we did not come to the ideal conclusion.”
