AS Roma captain Francesco Totti has been contacted by New York Cosmos regarding a summer move to NASL, Sky Sport Italia has reported.
The 39-year-old has spent 24 years playing with his club in the Serie A, but his influence has been limited to only 10 appearances this season as AS Roma new boss Luciano Spalletti keeps the legendary captain on the sidelines.
Totti and Spalletti have had a couple of issues this season and there were reports of a bust up following the club’s most recent 3-3 draw against Atalanta, during which Francesco Totti scored a late equalizer to save his team from losing the game.
Francesco Totti’s contract with AS Roma is set to expire at the end of the season and Giallorossi icon has already stated his desire to leave as he is not happy with how the club are treating him.
And now the American side New York Cosmos, who play in the USA second tier North American Soccer League (NASL), have reportedly made contact with the Italian legend through their coach Giovanni Savarese.
Francesco Totti has reportedly asked for €500,000 to play for New York Cosmos during the last four months of the NASL season and the club are believed to be considering official offer to the AS Roma captain.
The Italian veteran is also the target for another NASL club, Miami FC.
