Two sides that are currently enduring very different starts to the new MLS season, former Manchester City coach Domènec Torrent’s NYC side will travel to face an Orlando side completely out of form on Friday.

Starting with James O’Connor’s Orlando City side, with The Purples coming off the back of a 3-2 loss away at Columbus Crew last week, City have begun freefalling down the Eastern table and are arguably the MLS’ most out of form side. Now losing 10 of their last 11 outings, a run stemming back to the start of May, it has been their defensive issues that will be the biggest cause for concern for O’Connor’s team. With the worst defensive record in either of the conferences, along without recording a clean sheet in the MLS since April, Orlando have shipped 13 in their last five.

As for NYC, after bringing in former Manchester City coach Domènec Torrent last month, The Sky Blues have transformed into arguably the MLS’ in-form side. Coming off the back of a 2-0 win over The Crew, NYC now have the chance to briefly leap-frog cross-town rivals New York Red Bulls into second spot in the East. Along with now winning their last three matches on the bounce and keeping a clean sheet in all of those victories, one man to watch is 21-year-old winger Jesús Manuel. The Parguian international has now scored two in his last two for the Sky Blues. Backing an NYC win at 27/20 seems like the safest bet here.
