Newcastle close on Zaha

Daily Star understands that Newcastle are on the verge of completing a loan deal for Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha.

The 20-year-old arrived to Old Trafford from Crystal Palace this summer, but despite showing a lot of promise in pre-season, he has failed to make a single appearance in the Premier League.

Manchester United boss David Moyes still believes the player has a future at Old Trafford, but he might consider sending him on loan to ensure he gets some much needed playing time.

According to Daily Star, Stoke, Southampton and Fulham are all hoping to add Zaha to their ranks, but the player reportedly prefers a switch to Newcastle.

It is now up to the Magpies to try and reach an agreement with their Premier League rivals.

Newcastle resume their Premier League campaign with a Wear-Tyne derby against Sunderland, with Alan Pardew’s side 9/5 to triumph at the Stadium of Light.
