Tottenham HotspurÂ’s assistant manager Gus Poyet is reported to have met with Newcastle United officials in London last night with a view to him becoming the new Newcastle United manager.
It is felt by the Newcastle officials that Poyet is the ideal man to replace Kevin Keegan.
He was WiseÂ’s assistant at Leeds United and Swindon Town where they had a very good working relationship.
Poyet is also very close to Vice – President Tony Jimenez who was allegedly instrumental in Keegan departing Newcastle United.
One can expect opposition from Spurs boss Juande Ramos for whom Poyet has been assistant for almost a year.
