Newcastle keen on Lacazette

French daily newspaper L’Equipe is reporting that Newcastle are showing interest in Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.

The Magpies have been quite busy in the summer transfer window, but they appear to be on the lookout for another centre forward despite bringing in Emmanuel Riviere from Monaco.

L’Equipe has learned that Newcastle have made a move on Lyon starlet Alexandre Lcazette, but luring the Frenchman to St James’ Park could prove to be a very difficult task.

While les Gones are desperate to keep hold of their star player after Bafetimbi Gomis and Jimmy Briand both left, the forward himself would prefer to remain at Stade Gerland and is currently negotiating a new deal.

Alexandre Lacazette, who has another two years left on his current contract, has developed into a key player for Lyon, and went on to score 15 goals in 36 Ligue 1 matches last season. He has so far earned two France caps.
