Newcastle keen on Tosun

Newcastle United are considering a move for Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun, according to the Daily Star.

Toon boss Rafa Benitez is keen to strengthen his front line when the transfer window reopens and has identified the Turkey international a potential target.

Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace are also interested in securing the services of the twenty-six year old, who has made no secret of his desire to play in the Premier League.

Tosun moved to the Turkish capital in the summer of 2014 and has since racked up a total of one hundred and twenty-six appearances in all competitions, scoring fifty-three goals which has helped his side win back-to-back Super Lig titles.

Prior to his switch to Istanbul he had a similar scoring record with Gazientepspor while internationally the German-born forward has been capped twenty-four times for Turkey and has scored eight goals while he was part of the squad that attended last summer’s European Championships.
