Newcastle linked to Aubameyang

Newcastle are lining up a bid for Saint Etienne forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to L’Equipe.

The Magpies have already signed four players from French Ligue 1 this January, as Mathieu Debuchy, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Massadio Haidara and Moussa Sissoko all arrived at St James Park.

L’Equipe now reports that Saint Etienne star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could follow.

Newcastle are still searching for Demba Ba replacement and they are reportedly prepared to offer €10 million for the Gabon international.

Saint Etienne are holding out for €12 million, but nobody will be surprised if the two parties reach an agreement before the end of the January transfer window.

Aubameyang, who came through the youth ranks at AC Milan is widely regarded as one of the most talented forwards in European football at the moment.

The 23-year-old has made a total of 70 Ligue 1 appearances for les Verts and scored 26 goals in the process.
