Newcastle place £25m tag on Wijnaldum

Newcastle United have placed a £25m price tag on Georginio Wijnaldum, http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tottenham-told-georginio-wijnaldum-cost-8364083.

The Dutch international only moved to St James’s Park last summer and played in all thirty-eight of his side’s league games, scoring eleven goals but was unable to help them avoid relegation.

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on securing the services of the midfielder but are reluctant to meet to North East side’s valuation.

Prior to his move to England, Wijnaldum spent four seasons with PSV Eindhoven while he began his career with Feyenord.

He was named the Dutch footballer of the year in his last season with PSV, while the summer before that campaign the twenty-five year old starred as the Netherlands finished third at the World Cup finals in Brazil.

In total he has been capped thirty times for his country, scoring for them on six occasions.
