Newcastle are ready to make their first signing in the off-season. After enduring a quite difficult time in the transfer market, losing out on primary target Luca Modric to Spurs, Newcastle manager, Kevin Keegan, is hopeful that they will make Rangers defender, Carlos Cuellar , their first signing.

Newcastle are set to present Rangers with a £7million offer for their star defender, who impressed for Rangers in the UEFA Cup final against Zenit St. Petersburg , despite losing the final.

Cuellar, 26, who moved to Rangers last season from Osasuna in a £2.3m deal, has been a big hit in his debut season in the SPL. He was recently voted the league’s player of the year.

The Spainard’s impressive performances both in SPL and the UEFA Cup have alerted a lot of clubs. If Rangers do agree to their offer, Newcastle would most likely face stiff competition for his signature.

    LMFAO.

Newcastle are a team who have won nothing for decades, why would Carlos join a team of losers bacause in reality Newcastle are a second rate EPL team, they are a team of losers.

Carlos stay at Ibrox, at least you can win something there.

Got something to say?
