The latest reports from England are suggesting that Newcastle are plotting a short-term deal for Manchester United Wilfried Zaha.
Despite almost single-handedly leading Crystal Palace to the Premier League, the England Under-21 international has had a really slow start to his career at Old Trafford.
And having made just two substitute appearances in the league this season, the 21-year-old is set to be made available for loan in January.
According to the latest reports, Newcastle are prepared to offer Zaha an escape route from Old Trafford, with Alan Pardew looking to inject some pace to his attack.
The arrival of the explosive winger could be just what the Magpies need to mount a serious challenge for European positions, with the team currently sitting in 6th place in the overall standings.
Online bookmakers don’t seem to think Newcastle have what it takes to remain in the top half of the standings, with the Magpies priced at 15.00 (14/1) to achieve a top 8 finish.
However, with games against bottom-table sides Crystal Palace and Stoke next, this could be the right time to back Alan Pardew’s side for glory.
