Nicklas Bendtner linked with Premiership return

German media outlet Bild has suggested that Wolfsburg striker Nicklas Bendtner could be moving back to English Premier League.

The 27-year-old has largely struggled for playing time ever since he joined the Wolves and he only started three Bundesliga fixtures this term.

Some week after he dubbed his situation at the club ‘undoubtedly unsustainable’, the Denmark star is being heavily linked with a move to England.

With his contract at Wolfsburg due to expire at the end of the season, a number of Premier League sides are ready to offer the striker an escape route from Volkswagen Arena.

Newcastle United reportedly lead the chase, but while Bendtner is keen on moving to St James’ Park, the two clubs have yet to reach an agreement.

The Magpies are currently involved in a difficult relegation tussle and they have been made 4/7 favourites to get relegated to the Championship for the second time in seven years.
