A seemingly exasperated West Brom have taken to Twitter to clarify the situation regarding Saido Berahino, claiming they have had no offers for the striker.

Berahino impressed in the Premier League last season, netting 14 goals from 38 appearances.

His performances saw him linked with a number of clubs, with Tottenham reportedly expressing their interest.

Former West Brom boss Alan Irvine said the England Under-21 international is not yet ready for a move to White Hart Lane, and the ongoing speculation has prompted a strong response from West Brom.

“Ok, this is getting silly now,” the club posted on its official Twitter account.

“So let us make it clear. There has been NO bid for Saido. That’s it. Carry on everyone #wba.”

West Brom had previously used their Twitter account to rubbish speculation over Berahino’s future last December, describing reports of a £23m move to Liverpool as “an entire fabrication”.
