No Christmas party for QPR

QPR defender Clint Hill says the players do not deserve a Christmas party this year following their dreadful start to the season.

The club has shelved plans to have the party as the team sit bottom of the Premier League, still without a win and onto their second manager in Harry Redknapp.

The 34-year-old said the players felt they should not be seen to be celebrating while the club are struggling as much as they are on the field.

“We haven’t really talked about a Christmas party,” Hill told The Chronicle.

“The players never set out a date because we don’t really think we should be out having a day getting drunk and celebrating Christmas because of the situation we’re in.

“There wasn’t an actual meeting to say we’re not having one, there was just a general feeling that we don’t need one and shouldn’t have one.”

QPR travel to the DW Stadium to play Wigan this weekend as Harry Redknapp looks to claim his first win as Rangers manager.
