No punishment for Inter Milan over Modric

FIFA have confirmed that Inter Milan will face no punishment after an investigation into their approach for Luka Modric. The Croatian midfielder had been on Inter’s radar throughout the course of the summer, although Real Madrid repeatedly indicated that he wasn’t for sale.

A preliminary investigation, after a complaint was made by the Spanish giants, proved that there were no issues with the approach made for Modric. The man himself was even reportedly interested in the move going through, but as the days and weeks went by, it became obvious that he’d be remaining at the Bernabeu for at least another season.

The 32-year-old has had a pretty remarkable year, as he continues to enjoy his prime as a midfielder. In addition to winning the Champions League, he also helped to guide Croatia all the way to the 2018 FIFA World Cup final where they were unfortunately defeated by the French.
