Antonio Nocerino said he was delighted to have at last scored his first goal of the season, during AC Milan’s 4-2 win over Torino.

Milan ran out clear winners after coming from behind in Turin, and Nocerino believes his individual efforts show he is now beginning to recapture some of his best form.

“My performances are becoming more consistent and I feel physically stronger,” he told reporters after the game.

“Nothing has changed, I have always done my job, but you know how football is. Sometimes even if you are trying hard you do not manage to score.

“My main aim has been to become more consistent with my performances and then sooner or later the goals would arrive, and that has happened today. I am very happy because it was not easy at all here in Turin.”

The victory leaves Milan in seventh spot on the table, but Nocerino was quick to acknowledge the quality of Sunday’s hosts and praised his side’s second-half display.

“We did not play that well in the first-half,” he said.

“However, we increased the rhythm of play in the second-half and managed to score three goals, closing the game with an excellent victory.

“We played against an excellent team. They are very well organised and made things difficult for us. It was not easy to come here and win, so we are glad that we have come here and it was a positive result for us.”
