Ipswich star David Norris hopes to be back from a knee ligament injury before the turn of the year after making rapid strides in his recovery.

The 28-year-old sustained the serious injury during the opening-day defeat at Coventry but is hoping to come back ahead of schedule.

“I saw a specialist just a couple of days ago,” he told BBC Suffolk.

“He seemed pleasantly surprised by how the knee looked and how I was getting a bit more muscle definition in my thighs.

“As long as I don’t have any setbacks it should be a lot closer to four months than the six [that were initially predicted].”
